Dear Members,

We wish to inform you that the weekend competitions will be closed off at 8.30pm by the Competition Secretary. It is the responsibility of each member to ensure that their card is returned before 8.30pm otherwise it will not be counted.

No Returns in Competitions

The club is required to report and comment to the GUI on ‘No Returns’ by members at the end of the year. A No Return is where a member swipes their Galway Bay card to enter a competition but fails to swipe on completion of the round and enter the score.

It is a player’s responsibility to ensure a card is always returned notwithstanding there maybe scratches on the card or the round was not completed.

The GUI requires a Club to take disciplinary action with members who consistently do not meet their responsibilities under the rules of golf. We want to avoid this and we want to avoid damaging the Club’s reputation with the GUI at the end of the year review so we encourage members to try and avoid No Returns for 2019.

Many thanks

Sharon Rooney
Handicap Secretary 2019

To show due appreciation to our sponsors all prizewinners are expected to attend all presentations and prizegivings.
Also all players please be aware that:
Slow play spoils the environment of other players. Please play at a rate that will hold your place on the course and, if necessary, remind those playing with you to do the same. If you are holding up players behind, you must speed up or allow them to go through
