The rules for the 2017 DIGINET Club Matchplay are as follows:




It’s that time of the year again, the Club Matchplay kindly sponsored by DigiNet is about to start and you are cordially invited to take part, all new members are particularly welcome to enter. If you want to be in the final reckoning or just happy to take a scalp or two please sign up today.


All paid up members of the men’s club with a current GUI handicap including junior members with an official GUI handicap are eligible to enter. See below for full list of rules and Schedule.
To ensure that you are included in the draw please use the envelopes provided in the Clubhouse. Envelopes to be marked “Matchplay”. Entry Fee of €10 to be prepaid before the draw (Envelope with Fee and Name through Men’s Club Office letterbox no later than April 3rd.

1. Full Handicap difference

2. Use your current Handicap for each Match – taking into account latest movement

3. Play from White tees

4. Player on top of the draw – arranges the Match – all mobile numbers are attached

5. If both players cannot agree on a time – then a tee time of between 530PM & 600PM – on the last day will have deemed to exist – whichever Player turns up to the first tee box for this time period – will move forward.

6. If a match time cannot be arranged – and neither Players turns up on the last day between the time periods of 530PM & 600PM – then both Players are eliminated – unless one Players concedes the Match to his opponent.

6.1. Rules 5 & 6 will apply unless agreed otherwise by the Competition Committee

7. Fee for Matchplay is €10 – please put in a envelope marked “MATCHPLAY” – and drop off to the Club House before playing your first match.

8. Post the Match result in the competitions box – and update the wall chart in the Club House after the Match

9. All Players must be fully paid Members of the Men’s Club in order to enter the competition

10. All Players must have a current GUI Handicap

11. Junior Members with a full GUI Adult Handicap – and are paid Members of the Men’s club may enter

12. If over 64 Players enter the competition – a Preliminary qualifying round will take place

13. The Match Play Coordinators may change the Match schedule to facilitate inter-club competitions

All Players can earn Golfer of the Year points by advancing each round.
