Men’s Results 2019

We wish to inform you that the weekend competitions will be closed off at 8.30pm by the competition secretary, it is up to the members to ensure that their card is returned before 8.30pm otherwise it will not be counted.

No Returns in Competitions

The club is required to report and comment to the GUI on NO RETURNS by members at the end of the year.   A NO RETURN is where a member has swiped his Galway Bay card to enter a competition but fails to swipe on completion of the round and enter his score.   We have recently carried out an interim review of no returns and unfortunately there has been a high incidence of them by members so far this year.

It is a player’s responsibility to ensure a card is always returned notwithstanding there maybe scratches on the card or the round was not completed.

The GUI requires a club to take disciplinary action with members who consistently do not meet their responsibilities under the rules of golf.    We want to avoid this and we want to avoid damaging the club’s reputation with the GUI at the time of the end of the year review so please would all members ensure they avoid no returns for all competitions played
